Free Quizlet alternative, no test paywall
Turn your notes into flashcards and a practice quiz in seconds.
Snap a photo, upload a PDF page or paste your notes. SnapDeck pulls out the key facts as editable Q&A cards plus a 10-question quiz. Then test yourself as many times as you want, free.
Photo of your notes, a textbook page or a PDF
Up to 5 files. Handwriting works.
Sound familiar?
“Literally can only test once then you have to pay.”
“It would be better to take my existing notes and automatically create quizzes or flash cards.”
“Plus it was tedious to write and maintain them.”
SnapDeck was built for exactly this: you already have notes. You shouldn’t have to retype them into cards, and you shouldn’t hit a paywall the second time you quiz yourself before an exam.
How it works
- Step 1
Add your notes
Photo, PDF page, screenshot or pasted text. Handwriting is fine.
- Step 2
Check the cards
AI extracts the key facts into Q&A cards. Edit, delete or add any.
- Step 3
Learn mode
Flip, mark “got it” or “missed”. Missed cards come back until you know them.
- Step 4
Take the quiz
10 multiple-choice questions. Retake it as often as you like.

Questions
Is SnapDeck really free to test myself?
Yes. Learn mode and the practice quiz are free on every deck you have, as many times as you like. There is no “you can only test once” limit. The free plan includes 3 AI-made decks; you can always edit cards and add your own by hand.
What can I upload?
A photo of handwritten or printed notes, a screenshot, a textbook page, a PDF (lecture slides, a study guide) or pasted text. Up to 5 photos or pages at once.
How is this different from Quizlet or Anki?
You don’t type the cards: SnapDeck writes them from your own notes. Unlike Quizlet, learn mode and tests aren’t locked after one try and there are no ads. Unlike Anki, there is nothing to install or configure and it works the same on your phone and laptop.
Can I fix a card the AI got wrong?
Yes. Every card is editable, and you can delete or add cards. Your changes are saved to the deck.
What does Pro add?
Unlimited AI deck generation and exam-style practice tests: 20 fresh scenario, “which is NOT” and true/false questions with explanations, timed like the real thing. $6.99 a month or $69.90 a year; cancel anytime.
Do I need an account?
Not for your first deck. Create a free account (email and password) to keep your decks and make up to 3 with AI.
