Biology flashcards made from your own notes
Try it on your notes, free ↓Biology is a memory-heavy subject: pathways with many steps, structures and their functions, and a lot of vocabulary. The fastest way to learn it is to test yourself on your own course material, not a stranger’s set that uses different terms from your professor.
A sample deck: cellular respiration
Here are five of the cards SnapDeck made from one page of intro-biology notes:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where does glycolysis take place? | In the cytoplasm. |
| What is the net gain of glycolysis per glucose? | 2 ATP and 2 NADH. |
| Where does the Krebs (citric acid) cycle run? | In the mitochondrial matrix. |
| What is the final electron acceptor in the electron transport chain? | Oxygen, which forms water. |
| What does fermentation regenerate when oxygen is absent? | NAD+. |
Try the full sample on the right (“Try it with sample biology notes”), or paste your own notes on photosynthesis, genetics, cell structure or anything else in your syllabus.
How to study biology with flashcards
- One fact per card. “Where does the Krebs cycle run?” beats “Explain cellular respiration”.
- Drill sequences in order, then out of order. Learn mode shuffles, so you can’t lean on the previous card.
- Quiz yourself before you feel ready. The misses tell you what to reread. Retakes are free.
Questions
Can I make biology flashcards from a photo of my textbook?
Yes. Take a photo or upload a PDF page and SnapDeck turns the key facts into editable question-and-answer cards plus a 10-question quiz.
Do diagrams work?
Labels and captions in a photo are read along with the text. For a diagram with no labels, add a sentence describing it to your notes first.
